우리는 우리의 몸으로 withal our bodies we are

우리는 우리의 몸으로는 텍스트와 몸의 움직임을 찍은 영상이 함께 존재하는 작품이다. 텍스트의 내용은 화자가 클럽에서 몸의 어색함을 느끼고 '지원' 이라는 사람을 만나게 되어 여러 장소를 방문하고 정동을 나누고 몸을 함께 움직이는 내용으로 영상 내에서 시간순으로 보여진다. 텍스트에서 발생하는 감각 - 긴장감, 자의식, 이완, 어색함 등등 - 을 배우인 성현과 함께 동작을 짜서 촬영을 했다. 영상에서 성현은 거꾸로 프린트된 텍스트를 거울에 비추어 내용을 전개하고 텍스트와 관련이 있어보이거나 전혀 상관 없어보이거나 이어지는 것처럼 보이는 동작을 보여준다. 텍스트와 몸짓의 레이어를 한 영상에서 놓고 보면서 우리는 몸에 대해 생각하고, 함께 움직이고 바라보는 것에 대해 생각한다.

withal our bodies we are is a work combining text and the moving image of body movements. In the text, the speaker feels awkward and nervous at the club and meets 'Jiwon', visiting different places and sharing communal movements and affect, which is shown linearly throughout the film. Based on the senses emerging from the text - nervousness, self-consciousness, relaxedness, awkwardness, etc - Sunghyun who performed this piece choreographed movements with me. In this work, Sunghyun presents texts that are printed in reverse on the mirror and performs movements that are sometimes related, not related, or maybe extended from the text. By putting text and movements next to each other, we think about how our bodies move and what it is about to move together with others.
